OBJECTIVE: To set guidelines on the selection of affiliates which displayed outstanding operational performance and service patronage, worthy of recognition and emulation.

1. RATIONALE – TAGCODEC believes that one way to strengthen the federation is to promote cooperative professionalism through good governance and excellent operational performance of its affiliates. Strong and sustainable members make for strong and sustainable federation. All members, big and small, tyro and veteran and rich and poor should be given equal opportunity to be recognized. Recognition gives affirmation and motivation to deserving affiliates and inspiration for others to emulate.
2. GAWAD MASIKHAY – is an annual award presented during the Annual General Assembly of TAGCODEC recognizing the display of cooperation, perseverance and industry of the members in its desire for excellence and stability.
3. CATEGORIES
3.1 PERFORMANCE AWARDS – Selection shall be based on comparative performance for the last two (2) years. Only members submitting the required audited financial statements not later than March 15 of the year shall qualify in the selection.
3.1.1 Top 3 – highest percentage growth in membership expansion program
3.1.2 Top 3 – highest percentage growth in asset
3.1.3. Top 3 – highest percentage growth in net surplus
3.1.4. Top 3 – in COOP-PESOS rating, for affiliates audited through TAGCODEC
3.2 PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE AWARD (Hall of Famer) – This is the highest award which shall be awarded to any member which remained number one (1) in any of the sub-categories of the PERFORMANCE AWARDS for five (5) consecutive years.
3.3 EDUCATIONAL SERVICE PATRONAGE – TAGCODEC promotes cooperative education ion the belief that cooperative start with education, expand with education, is controlled by education and its success depends largely on education and its proper application. Acquiring knowledge makes one a potential success. Hence, TAGCODEC recognizes a single affiliate with the same belief as reflected in its educational service patronage for the year.
3.4 COOPERATIVE LOYALTY AWARD – shall be awarded for every decade of membership with TAGCODEC alone.
3.5 COOPERATIVE MEMBERSHIP AWARD – Shall be awarded to any member, with multiple affiliations, for every decade of membership with TAGCODEC.
4. All awardees must be members in good standing at the time of selection.
5. AWARDS
5.1. Top 1 in PERFORMANCE AWARDS shall receive a plaque of recognition plus a voucher card free registration fee for a participant in any one (1) seminar of their choice, to be conducted by TAGCODEC for the year.
5.2. Top 2 in PERFORMANCE AWARDS shall receive a certificate of recognition plus 50% discount on registration fee for a participant in any one (1) seminar of their choice, to be conducted by TAGCODEC for the year.
5.3. Top 3 in PERFORMANCE AWARDS shall receive a certificate of recognition plus 25% discount on registration fee for one (1) participant in every seminar of their choice, to be conducted by TAGCODEC for the year.
5.4. Awardee of PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE shall receive a special plaque of recognition plus free registration fee for two (2) participants for one (1) or separate seminar of their choice, to be conducted by TAGCODEC.
5.5. Awardee of EDUCATIONAL SERVICE PATRONAGE shall receive a plaque of appreciation plus free registration for one (1) participant for one (1) seminar of their choice to be conducted by TAGCODEC for the year.
5.6. Awardees of COOPERATIVE LOYALTY AWARD shall be given a certificate of recognition. Third decade loyalty shall be entitled to free registration fee for one (1) participant for one (1) on the next annual general assembly, provided that the voucher shall not be used by non-voting delegate.
5.7 Awardees of COOPERATIVE MEMBERSHIP AWARD shall be given a certificate of appreciation. Third decade membership shall be entitled to a 50% discount on registration fee for one (1) participant on the next annual general assembly.
6. On the first few years of implementation, the Board may decide to select awardees for PERFORMANCE AWARDS only. Provided, that measures shall be taken by the Board to allow for the awarding of other categories n the future.
7. MASIKHAY AWARDS COMMITTEE
7.1. Composition
7.1.1. Chairman - Chairman of Education Committee
7.1.2 Vice-Chairman - Chairman of the Audit and Inventory Committee
7.1.3 Member-Recorder – Chief Executive Officer
7.2. The result of the selection, including al documents justifying the results, shall be submitted to the Board of Directors, not later than end of March, for confirmation.
7.3 The members of the committee shall not receive any honorarium for committee meetings attended but shall be given transportation allowance.
8. The Board of Directors shall ensure the integrity and continuity of the MASIKHAY AWARDS within the bounds of their powers.
9. This policy and its future amendments shall be covered by a Board Resolution and shall take effect on the next selection, immediately following the approval by the majority of the Board.
